The Bennelong Foundation engages with various internal and external partners in various ways.
The Bennelong Foundation engages with various internal and external partners in various ways, across volunteering with our internal and external partners, volunteering and funding various charitable organisations and collaborating and joint funding with our philanthropic peers.
As part of the Bennelong Foundation’s strategic direction, the Board approved a major grant to deliver the Pre-Departure Cultural Intelligence Training for the New Colombo Plan (NCP) supporting NCP participants to gain the most from their in-country experience. The NCP aims to strengthen Australia’s knowledge of, and links to, the Indo-Pacific region through study and internship opportunities for Australian undergraduates. The NCP aims to ensure students have “Asia Capability”, are work ready, have professional connections in the region, and can link their study experience directly to career opportunities.
The partnership involved in this project represents a collaboration across philanthropy (the Bennelong Foundation and the Myer Foundation), government (bi-partisan support), educational institutions (The University of Melbourne and up to 39 public universities) and corporate (Asialink Business). This project executes on the Foundation and the Board’s objective of collaboration, innovation and thought leadership.
Education, Training & Employment is a major area of focus for the Bennelong Foundation and the Board approved a scholarship/internship for a student from RMIT and Macquarie University. Not only does the student receive a scholarship for the years they study but they also have an internship within the Bennelong/Bangarra group of companies in Melbourne and Sydney, providing them with invaluable work experience which relates back to their field of study.
The Bennelong Foundation is pleased to partner with The John Villiers Trust in supporting an exciting new project with the Cathy Freeman Foundation in Woorabinda, Central Queensland.
