Bennelong Foundation is currently funding Girls in STEM project delivered by Discovery Science and Technology Centre. Discovery Science and Technology Centre is a not for profit charity/community organization that aims to inspire and nurture scientific curiosity. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore and learn and that STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) is an area that can only improve through diversity.
This project is training selected girls from disadvantaged local schools across Bendigo to become STEM leaders and mentors to their peers. Participants receive a Discovery family membership and hands-on STEM training with our female science communicators and role models. Participants use their newfound skills and enthusiasm to inspire their classmates to pursue STEM.
