Bennelong Foundation is funding Keeping Women out of Prison, Keeping Families Together delivered by Women and Mentoring - WAM Limited. This funding is to expand the program into courts that were previously not serviced – ie, Broadmeadows in the first year, then replicate the program in the South-East to accept referrals for women presenting at Dandenong, and Ringwood Magistrates’ Courts in the second year.
Women and Mentoring (WAM) is an organisation that offers a unique, early intervention program that supports women charged with a criminal offense by matching them individually with a supportive female mentor. The volunteer mentors are trained and resourced to provide appropriate support to the program participants, to share their skills, and to contribute to the wider community.
