In partnership with the British Refugee Council and the Change Foundation UK, our chairman donated brand new cricket kits to the Refugee Cricket Project. The project supports 80 young refugees and child asylum seekers providing them with a safe space to integrate into their new environment, gain advocacy support and help them develop a sense of home from home. Not just a sporting program providing weekly cricket sessions, the Refugee Cricket Project also provides one to one advocacy support and safe social space for refugee groups in the UK. There is also an annual Refugee Premier League cricket tournament hosted at Lord’s Cricket Ground which is a platform for celebration and awareness of the issues these young people face. The brand new kits were extremely well received, and a wonderful opportunity to share the spirit of caring, and of course, a love of cricket.
